Why is the plaque biofilm important?
The plaque biofilm is the thin bacterial layer that coats the surface of teeth and is only visible under high powered microscopes, making it difficult to identify and assess. Regular dental screening tests, such as CariScreen, is a quick, non-invasive way that quantifies bacterial activity living within the plaque biofilm. Its a simple way to help establish your risk and remain free of decay.
